Some Texas voters who arrived to vote on Election Day found their names missing from the voter rolls in their new county, according to Randall County Elections Administrator Shannon Lackey. She said the problem affected voters who moved from one Texas county to another without updating their voter registration. Some of these voters found their registration still tied to their previous county.

Texas allows certain voters who move between counties to cast a limited ballot during early voting. The limited ballot includes races and measures that appear in both the former and current counties. That option is not available on Election Day. Lackey said some people came to her office on Monday, November 2, seeking a limited ballot, and early voting ended on Friday.

Lackey said the best way to get a full ballot is to update voter registration in the county where a person currently lives. Voters who cast provisional ballots on Election Day are not immediately included in results. Lackey said her office is reviewing those ballots and registration records, including information from the Texas Department of Public Safety. Voters will receive written notice on whether their ballots were counted.
