Fried Flavors, a food truck near the downtown square in Lockhart, recently won two 2026 Best of Caldwell County honors. The truck was named Best Wings and Best New Food Truck. It serves chicken wings, burgers, chicken sandwiches and a range of sauces.
Owners Michael Johnson and his husband, Shane Redinger, started the business in Austin at Ghost Line Kitchens, a ghost kitchen, before moving to Lockhart. Johnson said the goal was to add another option to a town known for its barbecue. "We wanted to add another option to a town that already knows and loves great food," he said.
The owners said the wings are made with fresh, never-frozen chicken. They use a seasoning recipe passed down through Redinger's family in Australia.
