Congressman Pete Sessions presented commendations to two veterans at the 2026 East Texas Congressional Veterans Commendation Ceremony in Huntsville on Friday, October 30. The ceremony was held at the Texas Prison Museum Conference Center.
Sessions honored Corporal Tom Fordyce, USMC (ret.), and Private 1st Class Thomas Oleinik, Army. The honors recognized their wartime service and their community involvement after their military service.
Each veteran received a United States flag that had flown over the U.S. Capitol. Each also received a Congressional Commendation, which the story says will become part of the Library of Congress.
