Comal County election officials are streaming their vote tallies live on YouTube. The Elections Office website links to the feed, which is labeled "Elections Office Live Feed" on the page. Election workers enter totals for every race by hand into the statewide election-management system.
According to the Texas Tribune, preliminary midterm results will start coming in shortly after polls close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. The first results will be based on ballots cast during early voting, which usually make up a large share of the total vote. Election officials across Texas will post rounds of unofficial results through the evening and into early Wednesday.
Results are not official until election officials consolidate the ballots and complete a lengthy list of procedures to make sure votes are counted accurately.
