The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) is asking Comal County residents to weigh in on its Mobility 2050 Update. A public meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at New Braunfels City Hall, 550 Landa St. Doors open at 5 p.m.
The $39.2 billion long-range transportation plan lists proposed investments in public roadways, transit, and walking and cycling connections. AAMPO Executive Director Brendon Wheeler said in a statement that public input helps show whether the investments match the needs and priorities of people who live and work in the region. AAMPO uses public input to help allocate federal transportation funds to Comal, Bexar, Guadalupe and Kendall counties, eastern Medina County and the City of Lytle.
A 2027 Transportation Conformity Determination, which checks whether the plan meets federal air-quality requirements, is also open for review. Both documents are available online from Nov. 1 to Dec. 26 at alamoareampo.org/YourMove. The planning group said the regional population is expected to grow by roughly 41% from 2027 to 2050, and employment by nearly 70%.
