U.S. Rep. Chip Roy, whose district includes part of San Antonio, appeared on CNN's The Source on Wednesday night and argued that Republicans deserve two more years in power. According to the Daily Beast, Roy urged voters to give President Donald Trump and his congressional allies more time to lower prices on groceries and gas.

During the interview, host Kaitlan Collins noted that Roy had used the phrase "finish the job," which was President Joe Biden's campaign slogan. "It didn't work," Collins said, according to the Daily Beast. Roy responded that Republicans have had "only" 21 months to deliver on Trump's promises, the Daily Beast reported. Those promises included cutting Americans' energy costs in half within 12 months and quickly ending inflation.

Roy lost his bid for the Republican nomination for Texas attorney general earlier this year.
