Sul Ross State University International will dedicate its newly built Fort Duncan Hall in Eagle Pass on Friday, Oct. 30, according to an invitation shared by the City of Eagle Pass. The dedication is set for 1:30 p.m. at the new building on Amy Street. The city's announcement invited the public.

Sul Ross State University International is the arm of Sul Ross State University, a member of the Texas State University System. It has campuses in Eagle Pass, Del Rio and Uvalde. According to the university, it offers upper-level bachelor's courses and master's programs, and works with Southwest Texas Junior College so students can move from an associate degree into a four-year program.

The university began using the Amy Street building this summer. In June, it held parent information sessions there on admissions, enrollment, financial aid and student services, according to a university news release. The longtime Eagle Pass campus is on Bob Rogers Drive. The university has not said publicly how classes and offices will be divided between the two locations. The building shares its name with Fort Duncan, the U.S. Army post founded in 1849 that gave rise to Eagle Pass.
