The Mount Pleasant High School Lady Tigers basketball team won the ETBU Team Camp championship at East Texas Baptist University, according to the school. The team attended the camp June 14-16 and went 3-0, beating Brownsboro, Buffalo and Wolfe City.
Two players also earned individual honors. Rising senior Kaylin Brannon was named MVP of the camp, and rising junior Kennedy Jones was chosen for the All-Tournament Team.
Head Coach Crystal Jackson-James said the experience was "absolutely amazing." She said the team ate together, spent time together and played as a team. She added that the ETBU coaching staff said the team looked strong and that they hope to see some of the players continue at ETBU.
