High school students from across Texas are taking part in a regional barbecue competition in Fort Worth this weekend. They are preparing dishes that are popular in the state.
Judges are scoring each school's entries in five categories: chicken, ribs, brisket, beans and dessert. The competition also gives students a chance to build practical skills they can use after high school, according to the report.
The regional competition ends Sunday with an awards ceremony honoring the students' work.
