Residents of the Las Lomas apartment complex in West El Paso say they have ongoing problems in their homes, including water issues, unfinished repairs and pests. Residents describe holes in ceilings, bugs and frequent hot water shut-offs.

Ashley Powers, who has lived at the complex for a little over a year, said her kitchen sink has had no water for about two months and that she found mold inside her dishwasher. She said she submitted a work order in early October and the issues have not been resolved. Jael De Santiago said a hole above her shower has been open for months and that bugs enter her apartment through unfinished flooring. De Santiago said she went six weeks without hot water.

Brazos Residential, which acquired the complex a year ago, said it would look into Powers' claims. The company said it contracts Eagle Pest, which visits weekly, and that plumbing work must be checked for leaks before walls are closed. In a statement, Will Handcock of Brazos Residential said the property had many hot and cold water issues when it was bought and that none of the boilers were fully working. He said the company has spent over a million dollars on repairs, including replacing the last two boiler systems.
