Commuters traveling between Kyle and Buda and Austin now have a carpool option during ongoing construction on IH-35, according to a news release. The program, called We Ride I-35, is offered through the Regional Transportation Demand Management program of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO).

The program works with CTXGO to match participants based on their travel routes and schedules. Participants can drive, ride or alternate between the two. Once matched, carpoolers agree among themselves on meeting times and places. The release said the program is meant to help share commuting costs.

The CTXGO app includes a Guaranteed Ride Home feature that gives eligible carpoolers a free ride home when an unexpected situation comes up. Participants may also be eligible to earn $5 per day, up to $150, by logging carpool trips in CTXGO Commute Rewards, the release said.
