Dripping Springs ISD congratulated trustee Mary Jane Hetrick on her election as president of the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) for the 2026-27 school year. The vote took place at the TASB meeting on Oct. 26.

TASB is led by six officers and a board of directors. The board includes school trustees from districts in every educational service center region in Texas, plus one representative for ESC boards. It meets at least four times a year.

Hetrick is serving her fourth term on the Dripping Springs ISD Board of Trustees. She previously served four years as vice president and two years as president. She also serves on the Dripping Springs Education Foundation Board and as president of the Foster Village Board. The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce gave her its Hometown Hero award in 2020.
