Houston Public Media's Houston Matters program said Tuesday's midterm election results represent a major shift in political power in Washington and Austin. The program said it is examining what the shift could mean issue by issue for Houstonians and for local groups that may soon have access to newly elected officials. Earlier, it looked at how the changes might affect education in Texas.
On Friday's program, host Craig Cohen focused on immigration. He spoke with Cesar Espinosa, executive director of the civil rights nonprofit FIEL Houston, and Ruby Powers, an immigration attorney and owner of the Powers Law Group.
