The 57th Annual Hopkins County Stew Contest was held Oct. 24 at Buford Park. Almost 500 teams of cooks prepared beef and chicken stews.
Other contests were held along with the stew competition. They included a Dutch oven baking contest, a tailgate appetizer contest, and campsite and costume contests.
The winners named in the report include Trevor Agee and Audrey Agee, who received honorable mention in the camp site and costume category. Molly Stevens and Randy Brockmeyer received honorable mention in the super camp site and costume category. Allison Libby-Thesing and Cooper Thesing were named Best New Stew Cook.
