The Victoria West Warriors (6-4, 3-3) have finished their regular season and have a bye in Week 11. The team has clinched a playoff spot and will likely be the No. 4 seed in the bi-district round, according to the report.
The likely opponent is the Bastrop Bears (5-4, 4-0), who are in first place in District 12-5A DII. West's defense would look to contain Bastrop quarterback Weston Nielsen, a four-star prospect who has committed to Arizona State University.
West's last game was a 54-48 overtime loss at Richmond Tomas on Oct. 30. West trailed 48-42 with less than two minutes left, then tied the game on a touchdown pass from senior quarterback Aiden DeLeon to junior Kage Hradek with seven seconds remaining. West missed the extra point, and Tomas scored in overtime. West head coach Courtney Boyce said he was proud of the players and credited the offense, defense and special teams.
