Officials with Antioch Georgetown hope to hold a grand opening for their second church building on Nov. 22, Associate Pastor Stephen Castleberry said. The new location is off SH 130 at 4600 SH 130 in Georgetown. The congregation now meets downtown at 111 W. 10th St.
Two services are planned at the southeast location on Nov. 22 and 29. Castleberry said both locations will offer live preaching and worship starting Dec. 6. He said the timeline depends on construction and permitting.
Castleberry said the church chose a second location instead of one large venue so members can worship with people who live near them. "For us, opening a second location has never been about a building," he said. "It's about people." He said Antioch was planted in 2017 by 25 adults and their children who left Central Arkansas. Sunday services feature contemporary worship and practical biblical teaching in a casual setting, he said, and the church also offers programs for kids and teens, small groups and life courses.
