Installation has started on precast concrete components for the new Ector County Courthouse parking garage in Odessa, according to the report.
Precast components are made ahead of time and brought to the site ready for placement. The parts are transported to Odessa in groups of about 20 truckloads at a time, then delivered and installed on site. Other methods require concrete to be poured and cured on site. Crews are assembling the garage as materials arrive.
The garage is the first phase of construction for the new courthouse complex, which is designed to support county operations and serve the community. The report said residents will see more visible changes at the site as the precast elements come together.
