Ethan Carter, a student at Dorris A. Jones Elementary, was recently recognized by the Rockwall Noon Rotary Club as its Student of Honor. The club honored him for his academic accomplishments, leadership and positive influence on his school community. Principal Lori Bailey introduced Carter at a recognition luncheon.
Carter was elected student council president in a school-wide vote. His campaign included a speech and posters placed near water fountains, where students would see them during the day. He recently earned perfect scores on two honors math tests. His teachers describe him as hardworking, kind and charismatic.
Outside the classroom, Carter enjoys baseball, where he plays first base, and has a particular interest in history. He has begun thinking about his future and plans to pursue civil engineering. He said Texas Tech University is his college of choice.
