Daylight saving time ended at 2 a.m. Sunday, so clocks moved back one hour across Texas. Most phones and computers update on their own, but microwaves, stoves, car clocks and some wall clocks must be set back by hand. The change brings earlier sunrises and sunsets for the next several months. Daylight saving time returns on the second Sunday in March.

The National Weather Service forecasts a warm, muggy stretch through Monday. Eagle Pass is expected to reach a high near 82 Sunday and near 86 Monday, and Del Rio a high near 81 Sunday and near 85 Monday. The agency said patchy fog is possible early in the mornings because of the humid air and soils still wet from last week's heavy rain.

According to the NWS offices in Austin and San Antonio, a cold front is expected to cross South Central Texas overnight Monday into Tuesday morning, bringing a line of showers and storms. A few could be strong to severe, with damaging winds as the main threat and some large hail possible. The chance of rain Monday night is 50% in Del Rio and 20% in Eagle Pass.

Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, is forecast to be sunny and cooler behind the front. The NWS expects highs near 80 in Eagle Pass and 78 in Del Rio, with north northwest winds. Tuesday night is forecast to be clear and much cooler, with lows around 56 in Eagle Pass and 54 in Del Rio.
