Several Texas Republicans blamed one another, President Donald Trump and the party's record in power after Democrats won control of statewide offices in the Nov. 3 election, according to a report from KERA News.

Trump wrote on Truth Social that Gov. Greg Abbott would not have lost if he had not become a "RINO," a term for Republican in Name Only. Abbott's personal account on X, @GovAbbott, was suspended after the election. The platform, owned by Elon Musk, has not publicly said why. Abbott's official government account was not suspended.

Comptroller candidate Don Huffines, who will hand the seat to Democrat Sarah Eckhardt, said the party failed to deliver on economic promises. In a concession speech, he blamed Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and moderate Republicans. Patrick said the results reflected what voters cared about, including affordability and gas prices, and said he accepted the will of the voters. He said the Republican Party has "serious work to do."
