The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office is using the Mabank Pavilion for tactical training. The space is part of a new partnership with the City of Mabank. The department's Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training, known as ALERRT, is based there, the sheriff's office said. The training focuses on scenarios that require quick decisions and coordination.

Trainers are using American Range Walls to build modular floor plans in the building. Deputies can practice moving through different room layouts, and instructors can change the interior to copy conditions found in residential and commercial buildings across Kaufman County, according to the department.

Sheriff's office officials thanked the City of Mabank for providing the space. The department said collaborations like this help deputies build the skills needed to protect the public. The sheriff's office said it plans to continue these training sessions as the region grows.
