The Beech Grove Volunteer Fire Department said it was called at 5:45 p.m. to a report that a trailer house had fallen on a person. Crews found that the trailer was being set and leveled when a tire blew out, and the trailer frame struck the man in his back, the department said. It said he was seriously injured.
The department said the man was not trapped and had gotten out on his own before crews arrived. Allegiance Mobile Health - Jasper EMS took over his care and took him to the Beech Grove fire station, where care was transferred to Allegiance Air 1 from Kirbyville. The department said the patient was being flown to a hospital in Houston.
The fire department thanked the medical crew of Med 94, the crew of Air 1, and Jasper County Sheriff's Office deputies Vern Kaylor and Brooke Kaylor Tykol for helping with the EMS escort and the landing zone for Air 1.
