Hondo Railway will use the federal grant to upgrade its rail infrastructure for customers and to reduce blocked crossings in Hondo.
Hondo Railway, part of Pinsly Railroad, recently received $8.3 million from the Federal Railroad Administration.
The company plans to use the grant to improve its short-line rail infrastructure. The upgrades are meant to serve customers in the construction, manufacturing and energy industries.
The improvements are also expected to reduce blocked railroad crossings in Hondo.
