The 12th annual Catrina Festival returns to Laredo this Saturday, Nov. 7, with events from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Pan American Courts, 3301 San Bernardo Ave. The festival celebrates Mexican culture and honors loved ones who have died.

Organizers say the tradition of remembrance has remained strong for more than a decade. Sandra Rocha Taylor said the event gives families a chance to remember people they have lost, including pets. Attendees can bring photos to an altar.

This year the festival will include a walk for the second time, beginning at 6 p.m. For more information, call 956-645-2512.
