Keller Mayor Ross McMullin gave his State of the City address Oct. 28 at a Greater Keller Chamber of Commerce luncheon at The Bowden. McMullin, elected mayor in May, reviewed infrastructure, public safety, amenities and developments that are finished, underway or planned. He said the city had addressed a backlog of sidewalk repairs since he joined City Council six years ago. He also said the city has dedicated $3 million for trail construction for fiscal years 2026-27 through 2030-31, and that it is negotiating to acquire part of a private property to connect its trails to Milestone Park.

McMullin said the city has $35.5 million planned for street improvements over the next five years. He highlighted the $32 million Elm Street reconstruction, which includes $8 million from an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County. He also mentioned the Keller Water Tower rehabilitation project.

McMullin said the city is spending $875,000 on the Alta Vista water line project, part of an interlocal agreement with the city of Southlake. He said the project could cost up to $40 million in total and that the work will become more expensive over time. McMullin also said 25% of the total city budget and more than 50% of the general fund go to the police and fire departments, and that the council recently approved an 8% raise for both departments and dispatchers.
