On Oct. 20, the Sugar Land City Council approved a nearly $642,000 design contract with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. for mobility improvements on Dulles Avenue, according to agenda documents. Planned renovations include a 10-foot-wide side path on the west side of the street, pedestrian bridges and a connection to the Missouri City Oyster Creek Trail.
The design work includes project management, topographic surveying, a tree inventory and protection plan, and design documents with construction cost estimates. The project is expected to cost about $3.48 million in total. According to the city website, it is funded through Sugar Land's 2024 bond and the 2023 Fort Bend County mobility bond.
Design is expected to begin in November and be completed in April 2028, according to agenda documents.
