A Texas flight instructor was among three people killed Thursday when two helicopters collided midair southeast of McMinnville, Oregon, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said.
The sheriff's office said Maddie Aasbo, 22, was aboard a 1995 Robinson R22 with a student pilot from the United Kingdom. The student's name is being withheld until relatives are notified. The Robinson and a 2018 Airbus AS350B3 crashed in a field near Highway 233 and SE Cruickshank Road around 2:10 p.m.
The Airbus's only occupant, Tyler Delane Sturdevant, 38, of Newberg, also died, the sheriff's office said.
