Two helicopters collided midair southeast of McMinnville, Oregon, on Thursday, killing three people, the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office said. The helicopters crashed in a field near Highway 233 and SE Cruickshank Road around 2:10 p.m.

The sheriff's office identified Maddie Aasbo, 22, a Texas flight instructor, as one of the people aboard a 1995 Robinson R22. A student pilot from the United Kingdom was also aboard that helicopter. The sheriff's office said the student's name will be withheld until relatives are notified.

The other helicopter, a 2018 Airbus AS350B3, had one occupant, Tyler Delane Sturdevant, 38, of Newberg, who also died, the sheriff's office said.
