University Hospital in San Antonio was named the No. 7 Most Beautiful Hospital in America after a nationwide public vote, according to healthcare staffing company Soliant Health. The hospital was one of 57 finalists in the company's 14th annual contest, and the top 20 made the 2026 list.
Soliant said the contest recognizes healthcare facilities that emphasize attractive environments for patients, visitors and medical staff. The company pointed to the hospital's modern architecture, community ties and use of visual art in patient care areas. Soliant said a key factor was the hospital's SaludArte: Art of Healing program, which places curated artwork in treatment areas to support healing and patient trust alongside standard medical care.
Soliant said its contest, launched in 2009, evaluates architectural features, natural lighting, peaceful surroundings and staff culture. More than 200 hospitals nationwide have been recognized since the program began. Emily Miller, president of healthcare at Soliant, said being chosen by the public makes the recognition especially meaningful because it reflects the connections hospitals have built with the communities they serve.
