Holliday beat the Breckenridge Buckaroos 35-34 on Friday, Oct. 23, in a game that was tied three times. With the loss, Breckenridge is 1-2 in District 4-3A and 1-7 overall. Holliday is 3-0 in district and 3-5 overall. The Texan reported that Breckenridge must win one of its final two games to earn a playoff spot.

The Buckaroos trailed 35-28 with 4:25 left but drove 60 yards in 3:20 to score on a six-yard pass from Cooper Wimberley. With 1:05 remaining, they went for two points but did not convert after an incomplete pass to Ryan Waller.

Buckaroos head coach Casey Pearce said he trusted the decision to go for two. Pearce said the team had turned the ball over on its first series, when it had been moving well, and that the Buckaroos were trying to do too much.
