A group called Save the Granada Theater! Dallas, Texas has formed to prevent the Granada Theater in Dallas's Lower Greenville area from closing. Last month, the owners announced on social media that the landmark would close and is expected to be succeeded by a concept called Bathhouse, according to a statement.

Shows and events will be held at the Granada through April 17, the statement said. Its last day of regular service was Nov. 1, but private events will continue through the end of the year. The coalition plans to meet at 7 p.m. on Veterans Day, Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Halcyon in Lower Greenville to review new information about the venue and brainstorm ideas to keep it a cultural performance center.

A Facebook user on the group's page pointed to a Dallas Morning News article saying the theater and restaurant have not yet been sold, and urged finding an alternate buyer. In an email to the Advocate, local residents said they are looking for private investors and grants, pursuing nonprofit ownership of the theater, and seeking historical landmark designation. More information is available on the group's Facebook page.
