Lufkin police arrested Jeremiah McGee, 47, on Friday. He is charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of Maria Davalos, 61, and Ariel Arellano, who were found dead in their home. Police said McGee was the main suspect and obtained a warrant for his arrest and a second search warrant for his home.

Lt. James Cowan said officers arrested McGee at his home around 1 p.m. Friday and searched the home again. Officers found what they believe is the weapon used in the killings, Cowan said. Officers first responded to a 911 call on October 23 and found Davalos and Arellano fatally wounded by gunfire. The caller was the son and brother of the victims.

Cowan said several people who were interviewed, including McGee, said there had been disputes between McGee and the two victims over wi-fi. McGee and the victims lived next door to each other in a duplex in the 900 block of Third Street. McGee was booked into the Angelina County Jail, and no bond has been set. Police said the capital murder charge is based on the deaths of two people in the same criminal episode.
