Police in San Antonio have arrested a man they identify as Felix Roberto Juarez, a singer who performs as Felix Truvere. Police said two neighbors found Ring camera videos showing a man on a second-story deck peering into their bedroom window. The neighbors said they recognized Juarez. Police said that in at least one video, he appeared to be holding a device that was recording, with blinking lights visible.
Officers arrested Juarez on July 1 after he returned to the neighbors' backyard, and they seized his cellphone. Juarez told detectives he was retrieving his cat that had gotten loose. He did not give police the passcode to his phone. Investigators obtained a warrant for his iCloud account, and Apple responded in August. Police said the data included videos of the victims in private moments, filmed through a gap in their curtains.
Detectives said the evidence indicated Juarez used his phone to record people in private moments without their knowledge or permission, including before the neighbors installed backyard cameras. Juarez was arrested on invasive visual recording charges on Thursday.
