James Mendoza was sentenced to life in prison on Friday for fatally stabbing his estranged wife, Stephanie Mendoza, according to the Bexar County district attorney's office.
Stephanie Mendoza's daughter found her unresponsive at the couple's former home on Aug. 13, 2024, after going to check on her. She had more than 30 stab wounds.
According to the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney, investigators determined that James Mendoza lured his estranged wife to the home and attacked her. He was taken into custody after the killing.
