The Town of Argyle selected Crossland Construction from 13 firms at its Oct. 19 meeting to build a new police department building. The town said construction is expected to start in July 2027. Argyle has approved $8.5 million for the project, which will be called the Donald G. Moser Law Enforcement Center after a former Argyle mayor.
Mayor Ron Schmidt said the council is committed to giving police officers a building that meets the modern demands of police work. He said the town has completed a planning study, hired a project engineer and a building architect, issued financing without a tax rate increase, bought the land and selected a construction company.
The town said the center will sit on 3.7 acres at the southwest corner of Hwy 377 and Harpole Road. According to a town press release, the site was chosen to reflect the hometown character of the Argyle Police Department, and the building will save some trees and plant more. Town Manager Mike Sims said the building should reflect the town's ranch and rural roots. According to town documents from Crossland, the building is expected to cost about $6.5 million.
