Lewisville ISD has named Nathan Hawes as the next principal of Lamar Middle School in Flower Mound, the district announced Monday. Hawes is currently an associate principal at Lewisville High School.

According to the district, Hawes started his career in 2001 at Lewisville High School as a coach and science teacher. He later worked as a strategic design coach and became assistant principal at Lamar Middle School in 2015. The district said he has 25 years of experience in public education, all in LISD. Hawes earned a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies and a master's degree in educational leadership from Abilene Christian University. He was a finalist for LISD Assistant Principal of the Year in 2023.

Hawes said coming back to Lamar feels like coming home. LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp said the district is pleased to have him in the role and called him a student-centered leader who builds relationships with students, staff and families.
