The Fayette County Commissioners Court signed a proclamation designating Nov. 8 as Parents as Teachers Day in Fayette County, the Fayette County Record reported.

Parents as Teachers of Rural South-Central Texas is marking its 25th anniversary this year. The program provides education and resources to parents of children from pre-natal to age five.

Representatives of the program attended the signing, along with county commissioners, including County Judge Dan Mueller.
