The Texas Historical Commission gave the Cherokee County group the award, which County Judge Chris Davis presented at a commissioners court meeting.
The Cherokee County Historical Commission has earned the 2025 Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Historical Commission. Cherokee County Judge Chris Davis presented the award during the commissioners court meeting on Oct. 27.
Davis said the commission members work hard. "They do lots and lots and lots of work," he said.
