Olive Bethel Baptist Church held its 135th anniversary service on Sunday, Oct. 18. Attendees sang, praised and raised their hands during the service, according to the church's account.
Pastor Michael Booze of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church gave the message. He based his sermon on Matthew 16:18 and spoke about building one's life on a "Firm Foundation." He also urged Christians to strive to be "servants of Christ." The two churches have a close bond, the story said.
Booze joked that Noah's Ark was the "first cruise ship." The story said the congregation was in good spirits throughout the service.
