With the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season nearly over, a weather recap says the season has been largely uneventful. Pre-season forecasts had predicted low activity because of a developing Super El Niño, but Texas still saw three landfalling tropical storms.

Tropical Storm Arthur formed off the coast of Corpus Christi and moved northeast along the Texas coast. Its center came ashore near Galveston, but the recap says little to no impacts were felt across Texas. Tropical Storm Bertha's center passed over San Antonio in August. The recap says it brought gusty winds for about a day, little rainfall on land, and some coastal flooding caused by the winds.

Tropical Storm Edouard was expected to bring heavy rain to Central Texas, but the recap says the worst of it did not reach the area. Instead, Central Texas saw gusty winds, which spawned a landspout tornado. The recap also notes that September 2026 had no hurricanes, the first time in 32 years.
