An Early man was killed and a Dublin man was seriously injured in a head-on crash on Nov. 2 on U.S. Highway 67 east of Early, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Bradley Randall Staub, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene. DPS said he was driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder east in the westbound passing lane. According to the preliminary investigation, a 2026 Toyota Tacoma driven by Christopher Gomez, 37, of Dublin, was traveling west in the passing lane when the vehicles collided.
Gomez was taken to Hendrick Medical Center in Brownwood and later transferred to Hendrick Medical Center North in Abilene with incapacitating injuries. The investigator suspects that Staub was impaired due to a medical condition and intoxication. The investigation remains active and is awaiting toxicology results.
