With holiday deliveries increasing, Constable Mark Herman's Office is reminding residents to take steps to keep thieves from taking packages from their doorsteps. The Constable said residents should track deliveries so they know when packages will arrive, and bring packages inside as soon as possible.

The Constable also suggested requesting a delivery signature so someone at home must sign for the package. If no one is home, residents can ask a trusted neighbor to receive the package or use a secure locker or pickup location.

Other precautions include leaving clear instructions for drivers to place deliveries somewhere secure and installing a video doorbell or security camera. The Constable said neighbors should keep an eye out for one another. Anyone who sees suspicious activity is urged to report it to law enforcement.
