A woman died after a late-night stabbing in Dallas on Friday, and a man has been charged with murder, police said.

Dallas police responded to a call in the 2300 block of North Akard Street at about 11:13 p.m. Preliminary investigation showed that a known suspect stabbed the woman, police said. Dallas Fire-Rescue also responded, and the woman was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Police arrested 54-year-old Jimmy Spurger Jr. He was charged with murder.
