Hallsville ISD staff, students and families gathered Monday for the district's third annual Multicultural Night. The event was held in the gymnasium at Hallsville North Elementary School. It included student artwork, tables representing different countries and dance performances.
Hallsville North Elementary students took part in a Heritage Walk. They paraded before an audience carrying a paper for a country or dressed as an influential figure from Hispanic history. Hallsville West Elementary students performed two folkloric dances, "La Raspa" and "Los Machetes." Teachers and students announced the presentations in English and Spanish.
The event started in 2023 as a way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. It has since expanded to include other cultures within the district.
