Houston police say a man was shot and killed in North Houston on Oct. 29, after officers were called to an apartment complex on Greens Road near the I-45 North Freeway around 9 p.m.
Lt. Ali said officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said two male suspects who lived in the complex came out of their unit and were taken into custody. A woman and a 5-year-old child inside the apartment left the building safely without injury.
Police said surveillance video showed the two men approaching the victim while he was parked in his vehicle and speaking with him. Officials said the victim tried to drive away, and at least one suspect fired into the moving car. The driver crashed into a tree moments later and died. Police said one weapon was recovered from the scene. Investigators have not said what type of weapon it was or where it was found. Authorities have not released the names of the victim or the two men in custody, and the motive is unclear.
