Balloon Fest is returning to Abilene this weekend, Nov. 6-7, with hot air balloons, food and entertainment. The event is scheduled at 2250 E.N. 10th St. Activities run from 5 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Organizers say the festival will include tethered balloon rides, morning launches, food and entertainment. Pilots who flew in Abilene decades ago are also returning. Whether the balloons can fly depends on conditions such as wind and rain.

For families planning to watch from the ground, Baker suggested dressing for chilly, breezy weather. Baker also suggested bringing disposable earplugs for young children who will be near the burners.
