A person died after a standoff with law enforcement that lasted several hours Thursday night in Snyder, police said.
Snyder police officers and Scurry County sheriff's deputies went to a home in the 2200 block of 43rd Street about 9 p.m. to serve a felony arrest warrant, according to a statement from Snyder Police Chief Mike Counts. The person inside refused to leave, and officers called the Texas Rangers and Abilene police for help. The person was later pronounced dead at the scene. The statement said no officers or other people were injured.
The Texas Rangers are investigating. Police have not released the person's name or how the person died. Counts said more information will be released as it becomes available.
