Heritage Village in Woodville will host "Spook Fest at the Haunted Village" on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31, which is Halloween. Both nights run from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and admission is free. Attendees can tour the Village, hear spooky stories and enjoy treats and old-fashioned fun for all ages.

John Michael Sanchez, a Tyler County Heritage Society board member and Village volunteer who is organizing the event, said it is meant to bring the community together with a focus on children. Sanchez said Friday will be a soft opening, and the Halloween night will be the main event, with smoked barbecue for attendees. The Z.C. Collier General Mercantile Store will be the event's focal point.

Sanchez said the event will draw on circus posters that hang on the walls of the Pickett House restaurant, tying a circus theme to Halloween. He also said the event is meant to honor local youth and create a tradition for children.
