Democrat Nathan Johnson was elected Texas attorney general on Tuesday night, defeating Mayes Middleton. Johnson has served in the Texas State Senate for the past seven years.
Before entering public office, Johnson composed the musical scores for five movies and 67 episodes of the anime series "Dragon Ball Z," according to a video he shared on his official Facebook page. In the video, Johnson said he wrote the music while his son was one year old. He said the connection to the show gave him a cultural link with his children's friends. IMDb lists his music credits on five films in the franchise.
Johnson will take office as attorney general on Jan. 1, 2027. The office prosecutes complex legal cases, defends state laws in federal court and manages consumer protection and child support enforcement programs statewide.
