A federal grand jury has indicted Canadian national Nikolay Sapov on two counts of felony stalking, according to federal authorities. He was arrested on the charges. Prosecutors accuse him of stalking a woman multiple times in Dallas and Florida from 2023 to 2026. The two met in 2021 while working at the Miami Open tennis tournament.

A criminal complaint against Sapov says he opened a company in the woman's name shortly after they met and sent her gifts, including a star-naming gift in 2023 that was delivered to her apartment. The complaint says he tracked her and her family's social media accounts and addresses, and that she had not given him that information. It also says he sent her messages professing his love, and that she later ignored and muted them.

In June 2026, the woman found Sapov at her Dallas apartment complex, according to the complaint. Dallas police completed a stalking offense report on June 23 for a man matching his description, and he was released. The complaint says that the next day, Sapov returned to the apartment wearing a rubber mask and fled when a neighbor confronted him, captured on a Ring doorbell camera.
